Traveling Diva

I've decided traveling is my thing. So far this year, I've gone out of town at least once every month except for March (the worst month in the world...I should have made it a priority to go out of town then!). I've been to Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Ohio, Nevada, Florida, and southern Utah. Granted, nothing too extreme (and Arizona has been hit 4 times so far this year), but it is so fun to get away even if just for a weekend. Here are the highlights from the most recent extravaganza...St. George and Las Vegas!

On Friday I drove down to St. George with some friends from the ward to see "The Little Mermaid" at Tuacahn. It was quite the spectacle. Although we didn't LOVE the acting, the set was awesome and there were some really fun scenes. Here are the girls before the show:
And the boys...
Yes, they really did match. No, they didn't plan it. And yes, we did make fun of them the rest of the weekend. :)
We had really good seats and even felt some of the "wall of water" spray mist on us during the show, which definitely helped with the heat!
That night we stayed at Matt's parents house in St. George. The next morning we traveled down to Las Vegas to Deb's house! We rented a boat (that went about 2 miles an hour) and went out on Lake Las Vegas. Deb's mom had so kindly packed us lunch and we had lunch on the boat. Then we swam around the lake for awhile and enjoyed the sun!
After that adventure we went back to Deb's, cleaned up, and headed downtown. All we really did was hit the MAC store for some of the girls and have dinner. Oh, and we caught a Bellagio fountain show, of course!
On Sunday we went to a 9:00 Sacrament Meeting and came back to Deb's mom's brunch all set up for us. It was beautiful and I should have taken a picture! We ate and played some music at her house, visited with her parents, and then packed up and headed back for PG. Only after we took some pictures with the tortoises. :) (Mom and Dad, I still want you to get some desert tortoises for our backyard in AZ...)
All in all, it was a great weekend! I am so grateful for the ability to travel. I LOVE visiting different places, especially with family and friends. I am grateful to have good friends who will travel with me!
