Happy Birthday, Melanie

Today is my dear sister, Melanie's, birthday. I am so grateful for my big sister! She and I share the love (aka addiction) of making crafts and I'm so grateful for that. :) Be it cricutting, making watch bands, painting wood, using vinyl, etc. We'll do it. We probably spend a little bit too much $ when we're together, but it's just too much fun. She's now picked up sewing and within her first few HOURS with her machine has made amazing things!

At Good Things, Utah this summer with my mom. And yes, Melanie did stand in the audience and sing the theme song to Good Things, Utah, and yes, she did win $100 worth of tickets to a car show at the raceway in SLC.

Melanie has always been there for me (even when I don't want her to be...jk) and is one of the first people I go to for advice (especially when I need a little encouraging...okay, a lot of encouraging). She is full of life and is always laughing and making others laugh.

She is the greatest little mom to Mason! He is such a cutie and she's always so kind and patient with him. Mason likes to talk NON-STOP (which comes directly from Melanie :) ) and she just let's him talk!

Melanie has taught me a lot of what I know about being thrifty. She's always finding the best deals and clipping those coupons to save even more. I am amazed with her full pantry AND full wallet (that's before we go to the Wood Connection or Robert's...).
Here is my favorite picture of us: (when I was a little high schooler)

I am so grateful for you, Melanie! I hope you have a fabulous birthday!!

  1. That was so nice of you, Janae. When I opened my Google Reader this morning, that was the first one on there! You're so sweet. And man, we look young in that last picture! How rude you said I'm there when you don't want me to be! haha Just kidding. And yes, we spend too much time and money doing crafts, but at least our houses are cute, right?! :) Thanks again. That was a great surprise.
