The Sealing Power

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the sealing of an old roommate in the Bountiful Utah Temple. It was my first time to that Temple and I thought it was absolutely gorgeous. My friend looked stunning. The day was just beautiful. But even more amazing than all of these things is the power that lies in the Temple which allows a man and woman to be sealed to each other for time and for all eternity.


I am grateful for Kristin's decision to marry her sweetheart in the House of the Lord yesterday. I am grateful for the example my parents, sisters, and so many others have set by marrying their sweethearts in the Temple. It is a simple ceremony. But it is absolutely amazing.

I am also grateful for a wonderful grandfather who has served for years as a sealer in the Temple. His dedication to his 2 days each week in the Temple has taught me so much about the willingness I should have to serve the Lord. He works hard at what he does despite being a little bit older and slower (plus having both knees replaced in the past few years...and he's 82!!). He loves the Lord and he shows it by serving in the Temple.


Here is a picture of my Grandpa Hagen and I after I went through the Temple for the first time last June. This was not too long after he had his second knee replaced. It was a tough thing for him to do, but he did it because he wanted to support me there. How cool is he?? :)
